Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed their five opponents during their pre-season tour in Austria.

Masandawana are set to leave for their pre-season camp and have lined up some tough opponents for their time in Europe.

Mamelodi Sundowns Confirmed Five Pre-Season Games 2024

Sundowns kick off their pre-season tour on July 16, with a friendly match against German Bundesliga 3 side SV Sandhausen at 17:30.

They follow that clash with another fixture on July 17 against Ukraine record champions Dynamo Kyiv.

On July 23, Masandawana take on Championship side Cardiff City, before finishing off their pre-season tour with two friendlies in one day.

On July 26, Downs will first take on Saudi side Al Arabi, who play in the First Division, and then Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal.

Sundowns begin pre-season tour with 2-1 loss to SV Sandhausen

Mamelodi Sundowns began their pre-season tour with a disappointing 2-1 loss to German 3rd division side SV Sandhausen at Stadion Jenbach in Austria on Tuesday evening.

Bafana Ba Style had a slow start, struggling to find their usual rhythm and effectively circulate the ball. The home side capitalized, taking the lead in the 33rd minute through Tim Luis Maciejewski.

After conceding, Masandawana took control of the game, spending extended periods in the German side’s half. Despite creating numerous opportunities, they struggled to deliver the decisive final pass in the penalty area. The first half ended with Sandhausen leading 1-0.

In the second half, Sundowns intensified their efforts, seeking their first goal of the European pre-season tour. Their persistence paid off when Tashreeq Matthews scored in the 55th minute, following a beautiful setup from captain Themba Zwane.

However, in the 70th minute, Dominic Baumann netted the match-winning goal for Sandhausen, sealing the 2-1 victory.
