Introducing “Bazok’feela” – A Theme Rooted in Fan Identity
This year’s MTN8 campaign is headlined by the theme “Bazok’feela”, which translates to “they will feel you.” The concept embodies the expressive and vibrant spirit of South African supporters—highlighting how football becomes a mirror of style, sound, culture, and identity. Robyn Lewis, GM of Brand & Marketing at MTN South Africa, said the campaign “celebrates how Mzansi fans show up, express passion, and create culture through football.” (iDiski Times)
Bigger Cash Prizes & Fan Incentives
The total MTN8 prize fund has grown to R10 million, with the winning team set to take home a larger share than previous seasons. However, fans now have a real stake in the excitement too. Through the “Last Fan Standing” initiative, supporters could win R1 million just by engaging with the tournament. A simple MTN recharge of R20 or more, followed by dialing *142#, enters fans into daily giveaways. (iDiski Times)
Rewards include exclusive match-day experiences, airtime, retail vouchers, in-home viewing packages, and suite tickets—making participation rewarding both emotionally and financially.
Honoring Legends & Empowering Communities
In a bid to preserve football heritage and community values, MTN is launching a “Last Legend” campaign. This initiative reconnects fans with retired football stars who once lit up the MTN8 stage. Through storytelling, mentorship, and development-focused activities, these legends will help bridge the gap between past glory and present inspiration. (iDiski Times)
⚽ Every Goal Gives Back
The MTN8 Goals for Charity program returns, with each goal scored during regular time resulting in a R20,000 donation to charity. The initiative ensures that every moment of brilliance on the pitch contributes to positive change off it—turning goals into real-world impact. (iDiski Times)
