2023/2024 NPFL Teams
The twenty-team field for the 2023–24 season will be made up of the top sixteen teams from the previous season as well as the four teams promoted from the Nigeria National League.

- Sporting Lagos
- Kano Pillars, and
- Katsina United.
Sporting Lagos made its Nigeria Professional Football League debut this season. Sporting Lagos will become the first team to be promoted after just one season thanks to their promotion. The Nigeria Professional Football League – NPFL Clubs have agreed on the league season kickoff date and structure for 2023–2024.
This was one of the resolutions made at the consultative meeting between the NPFL board and club owners on Thursday, August 3, in Abuja.
The structure will be a full season for all 20 teams, as agreed upon during the meeting, as opposed to an abbreviated league in the 2022–2023 season.
The current league winners of the Nigeria Professional Football League, Enyimba International FC, will compete against 19 other teams for the championship.
The matches will be broadcast live for spectators all over the world on a projected NPFL live app.
The League winner’s prize money has increased for the 2023/2024 season from 100 million to 150 million, as was previously reported.
